Our in-house guest fashion blogger and designer Aniket Satam reviews the style hits and misses of the week. Read on for the big dope…
This week saw some super chic and some super boring outfits by Bollywood celebs. Read on to know what designer Aniket Satam thinks of the same! Shraddha Kapoor – Love her guts to pull out a minimal resort saree for a most-awaited blingastic Bollywood reception (Arpita Khan’s reception.) This clean, colour-blocked Shivan and Narresh saree looked radiating and fresh on the petite actress. But seriously this look lacked a wedding sparkle. A statement Outhouse neck-piece, Mrinalini Chandra or Manish Arora from Amrapali jewellery would have made the wonder.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan- After getting back to her original stunning self all she decides to wear an all back tee-shirt maxi! Moreover for an event celebrating 20th anniversary of her winning Miss World crown. A major let down, especially with the hem which is floor sweeping and that bold red lip makes her look more like a modern version of Morticia Addams.
Athiya Shetty – That gorgeous face of new-age Bollywood needs a stylist like ASAP! The vibrant fuchsia top bloomed on her skin tone and her wind swept locks with chandelier made her look fresh. But what killed was the tulle paneled jacket extension and the lousy Manish Malhotra inspired lehenga. She is the next big thing and should start dressing like one!
Aditya Roy Kapur - BIG DADDY needs his suit back. Time to lose your onscreen lousy character wardrobe and wear something sleek and smart. Intellectual dressing can be youthful. Stylist SOS moment!
Jacqueline Fernandez – This monochrome Anamika Khanna couture looked ravishing on Jacqueline. She always brings an ease and element of flirtatious fun to any serious couture masterpiece. Her effervescent charm transforms any look and compliments her.The little black bindi worked well with the neo-Indian avatar. PS the sandals could have been better.
Karisma Kapoor – This monochrome addict diva knows how to make the whites work as stunningly as her blacks. The modest close neckline and dainty cap sleeve was styled perfectly with the sharp contrast of chunky jumkaas and chunky dial watch. Simplicity always shines in sea of garish barathis and Ms Kapoor knows how to pull a classy and sophisticated yet heavy and festive Indian look.
