On the occasion of King Khan’s 49th birthday, we bring you the different looks which Shah Rukh has experimented with over the years
Shah Rukh Khan, lovingly called as King Khan, turns 49 today. While the fans are busy wishing birthday to the superstar of Bollywood, we decided to bring you a fun compilation of roles in which SRK has tried something different in terms of his looks.
Bollywoodlife brings you 11 different onscreen avatars of SRK over the years and asks you to vote for the best look the superstar has portrayed over the years:
Koyla
SRK donned a never before seen avatar in Rakesh Roshan’s Koyla in 1997. Playing deaf and mute in the film, SRK’s character was highly fashionable as he sported a long funky hairdo and even adorned cool earrings, making him look hatke from the regular style of Shah Rukh Khan.
Josh
In 2000, SRK surprised everyone when he turned leader of biker gang in Mansoor Khan’s Goa based film Josh. As a part of his role, Shah Rukh donned a bandana with an eagle on it, cool one sided ear studs and brown leather jacket, making the superstar riding a Royal Enfield look uber cool.
Mohabbatein
In Aditya Chopra’s 2000 love story, Shah Rukh sported oval shaped thin framed black spectacles as he played a rebellious music teacher, who questions the rules of Gurukul. A specs clad SRK wielding a violin in his hand is one of the most memorable stills from the film.
Asoka
SRK turned emperor Asoka in this 2001 film. As a part of his role, SRK sported long straight hair with a small dot of chandan on his forehead. Also for the very first time, we saw King Khan in armour wielding a sword in Asoka.
Paheli
Over the years, SRK has played many Raj’s and Rahul’s, but only in rarest of rare occasions has Baadshah of Bollywood sported moustache on screen. Paheli was one such rare film where we saw SRK sporting a moustache dressed in traditional Rajasthani attire as he played a ghost in the film.
Chak De India
Shah Rukh Khan played Indian Women’s team hockey coach in Shimit Amin’s critically acclaimed Chak De India. Not only did SRK silence his critics by dishing out a terrific performance as Kabir Khan but also surprised everyone by sporting a moustache and stubble, which was something new for King Khan fans
Om Shanti Om
Farah Khan’s Om Shanti Om saw SRK playing dual roles in two different times. But the look which impressed us was Shah Rukh Khan’s retro look, as he rocked the screen with typical 70’s hairdo, long sideburns and floral printed shirts.
Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi
Aditya Chopra’s comeback to direction after long hiatus saw SRK transform himself for the role of Suri in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. Playing a middle aged man, SRK looked adorable in thick rimmed glasses, moustache and champu hairdo.
Ra One
In 2011, SRK turned superhero for his fans. Even though the film was criticised a lot, his look as G One was extremely popular. The G One look consisted of spiked hair and a blue silvery super hero suit. Infact his curly haired look for the game designer’s role was also appreciated by fans.
Don 2
In the opening sequences of Farhan Akthar’s Don 2, SRK’s dreaded don look comprised of a pony and a sexy stubble, which was different from his regular routine clean shaven look which he portrays.
Happy New Year
Shah Rukh has gone all out with experimenting looks for Farah Khan’s HNY. We seen him so many different avatars in the film, but the one that we loved the most was a blue eyed SRK sporting a blonde wig in the film.
On the occasion of superstar’s birthday, we ask you to be the judge and choose the best look SRK has ever sported over the years.
