Last Friday two films hit the theatres but neither of them got cash registers jingling…
Indra Kumar’s directorial venture Super Nani starring Rekha, Randhir Kapoor, Sharman Joshi and Anupam Kher in the lead roles released on October 31 and alongside Roar: Tigers of the Sunderbans. Well, we expected Rekha starrer to fare well considering the mighty star cast. But the film not only got of too sluggish start but failed to rake in good money at the ticket windows over the weekend as well. In comparison, Roar did pretty well at the box office despite having no established actor in the film. As per a trade portal, Super Nani collected less than Rs 1.5 crore in the opening weekend. On the other hand, Kamal Sadanah’s film Roar managed gross around Rs 5 crore in the first three days which isn’t bad as there was hardly buzz around the flick.
With Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer Happy New Year is going rock steady at the box office, we wont be surprised if Super Nani and Roar go out of the theatres pretty soon. Also, Akshay Kumar and Lisa Haydon starrer The Shaukeens is releasing this week. So pretty sure even that will affect the box office collection of these two films.
