The first half of the film has proven to be worth every penny. And why do we say that? Find out!
Govinda‘s comeback has been on everyone’s mind. After an awesome performance in Kill Dil, the actor is back with Saif Ali Khan and Illeana D’Cruz’s Happy Ending. Our reviewer Rukmini Chopra is presently in the theatres watching the film and she seems to be completely smitten by the performances.
Here’s what she says, “Romantic comedies can often be predictable and monotonous. But when added with a twist, it results to a film called Happy Ending! Starring Saif Ali Khan, Ileana D’Cruz and Govinda, this supposedly “spoof” on romcom has the elements to keep us hooked and wanting for more. Meet Yudi Jaitley(Said Ali Khan) once a successful author, but now is struggling and looking for means to survive. His mantra in life? Daaru, sex and women, but a big no no to love. Things however seem to have taken a turn when he meets Aanchal Reddy(Ileana D’cruz), a successful author at the moment who writes romantic novels. Yudi also happens to meet Armaanji(Govinda), a superstar, who wants Yudi to write the script of a film which appeal to the “masses and classes,” along with having “item numbers and chumma chaati.” The quirky angle to the plot is Yudi’s alter ego Yogi(Saif in a double role) who plays his conscience. Kalki Koechlin (Vishakha) aces the role of a jealous and possessive girlfriend to Saif, followed by Montu(Ranvir Shorey) who plays his funny pal. The storyline of the film is interesting, and is carried forward aptly by all the characters. The music is upbeat and catchy, G-Phaad Ke being the fun number as of now and being taken a notch higher by Govinda and his moves! Yudi’s love story seems to be going on perfectly, a rather too perfectly according to Yogi. He believes there must be some “locha” with Aanchal for sure. Further, will Yudi be successful in coming up with a perfect script for Armaanjis film? Picture abhi baki hai so let us wait and watch! Stay tuned to know about Kareena Kapoor Khan and Preity Zintas cameo roles in the full review coking up in some time!”
Now we would take Rukmini’s word for it. We too are now very eager to read the full movie review and get a full overview of the film from her. Keep hooked on to Apnatvzone for the full review pretty soon.
