After a lot of speculations, the Shandaar actor has signed the dotted line for the Magadheera remake. Why is he the perfect fit? Read on to find out….
Shahid Kapoor has been confirmed to do the Bollywood remake of Ram Charan Teja’s Magadheera. The film marked the debut of the Southern superstar in films and it went on to become the highest grossing Telugu films. Quite arguably so, filmmakers in B-Town queued up to adapt it in Hindi. After Hrithik Roshan, Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh didn’t pick up the role offered, it was Shahid Kapoor who finally signed on the dotted line. Here’s why wethinks Shahid can reprise Ram Charan Teja‘s role in the Magadheera remake…
-Shahid Kapoor’s physical attributes are pretty similar to that of Ram Charan and thus Shahid will be suited aptly for the role. Shahid is well built but not too bulky just which is perfect for the role.
-It’s a reincarnation story, which has not been tried in Bollywood for a long time and it will be a welcome change. I remember it was the trend of every alternate movie in the ’70s but not anymore. This will thus be a fresh breath.
-The Haider actor will be seen playing a modern day lover as well as a yesteryear prince of a kingdom. Shahid’s double act was praised a lot in Kaminey and this will also intrigue the audiences in the same respect considering the two completely different aspects. The variance in the two characters remind me of Saif Ali Khan in Love Aaj Kal.
-Shahid has recently started sporting the stubble. However, in the character of a royal prince, he will have to sport a royal moustache and beard. It will be interesting to see how Shahid looks in that. He has never shied away from sporting different avatars in films and I think Shahid will look pretty cool as a royal prince.
-South remakes have been mostly having high flying action sequences. However, Magadheera’s action sequences were very real and believable. It will be a different thing for the B-Town fans to see, considering their preconceived notion about South remakes.
Considering, Shahid‘s Haider performance, I am sure that he will be able to pull out a great performance. But will the adaptation of the story for the Bollywood audiences be as good? We will have to wait and watch for the same. Keep reading this space for more info about the film’s storyline.
