The renowned and legendary singer and composer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan will perform at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert, which will be held at the Oslo Spektrum Arena on December 11.
Each year the Nobel Peace Prize Concert brings together brilliant artists globally to pay tribute to the year’s laureates. This is a great honor that a Pakistani singer will be performing at Nobel Peace Prize Concert. Rahet Fateh Ali is the second Pakistani singer who is being priveliged to perform there, the famous rock band Junoon had previously performed at the event in 2007.
The concert and ceremony, to be hosted by Queen Latifah, will honor India's Kailash Satyarthi and Pakistan's very own and youngest-ever recipient of the Nobel Peace prize, Malala Yousafzai, for the work they have done to promote children's rights, particularly education.
According to local media, the renowned singer said he felt honored to be representing Pakistan overseas: "Pakistan is not only a nuclear power, but we also know how to make a place in people’s hearts with our melodious music."
Other artists who will be performing this year include prolific singer Steven Tyler, British soul singer Laura Mvula, Norway’s Gabrielle and the inspirational Girls of The World. There will also be a dazzling Bollywood number to entertain audiences.
