The actor turned politician makes light of the Nawab’s ‘glamorous’ comment on NaMo

A statement attributed to Saif Ali Khan, defining the Prime Minister Narendra Modi as glamorous has irked some people. But actor-turned-politician Shatrughan Sinha takes up for his daughter’s Bullett Raja co-star.

Defending Saif’s exuberant approval of the Prime Minister BJP’s influential member Shotgun says, “Saif meant no harm. He was probably trying to find the right words to express his appreciation of our beloved PM. Coming from the glamour world, our actors probably think the element of glamour to be the highest compliment. But Modiji is way beyond that. He is the most dynamic and iconic leader India has seen in decades. He is the hope of the nation.”

Even as Saif denied making the statement, “He has been quoted as saying, ‘How can I say that? I never said that? How can you call a man who wears khadi glamorous?’” The khadi statement irked another group of people. A young actress who has worked with Saif says, “Saif is toooo cute to offend. I am sure he didn’t mean to underestimate the beauty of the desi fabric. Khadi can be one of the most glamorous fabrics. We’ve seen some of the world’s top models set the ramp ablaze in khadi.”
