Not too long ago, reports were doing the rounds about Aamir Khan and Deepika Padukone teaming up for a film. Well, the PK actor was approached by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani for their next production venture and Khan actually gave his nod to the film. Apparently, the Bajirao Mastani actress was also on board and soon news about this film spread like wild fire. While everybody was looking forward to see Aamir and DP together onscreen, suddenly things went haywire as Kiran Rao’s hubby dearest walked off the project and Ranveer Singh’s ladylove followed suit. While media reports claimed AK backed off because of creative differences and script issues, we hear the reason was something else.
It seems the Satyamev Jayate host wasn’t happy with the remuneration. Most of the A-list actors have a stake in their film’s profit and Aamir falls under this category. But that’s not the problem. While Farhan and Ritesh were ready to split the profit share, it is being said that the 3 Idiots actor this time asked for 80 percent share. That’s like walking away with the entire pie, hai na? This reportedly didn’t go down well with the Dil Chahta Hai producers and therefore the deal fell through.
Now we know Aamir Khan is a bankable actor and he gets cash registers jingling like no one. We are also aware that most bigwigs do ask for profit share and its completely fine as that’s how things work in the industry. But the superstar went too far by asking for 80 percent of the profit share. Considering the kind of causes Aamir supports otherwise, we thought we would he is someone who believes in fare share but guess that’s not the case. All we can say is - Aamir should start concentrating on his production house because wethinks he will have to produce all his film henceforth because we doubt any producer will let him have almost the whole cake!
