Dutt’s family was also present at the screening. Take a look at the pictures from the event!
Sanjay Dutt recently came out of the Yerwada Central Jail (YCJ), Pune, on a two week furlough. We saw the star essay Bhairon Singh in Aamir Khan-starrer PK, but the movie had released while he was in jail. And now, the team of PK arranged a special screening of the movie for Dutt.
“He had not seen any cut of the film before. He also missed being a part of the entire promotions. Now that he is out, he will be watching the film with the entire cast and crew at a preview theatre in Santacruz,” said a statement from the film’s production team.
Sanjay was convicted for illegal possession and destruction of an AK-56 army assault rifle during the 1993 Mumbai communal conflagration before the March 12, 1993 serial bomb blasts in the city. He is currently serving a five-year jail term since nearly 18 months.
Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, PK also features Anushka Sharma, Sushant Singh Rajput, Boman Irani and Saurabh Shukla. The movie released in theatres on December 19.
