Aamir Khan, Anushka Sharma, Sanjay Dutt, Boman Irani and Sushant Singh Rajput starrer PK is all set to hit the screens tomorrow. While expectations are sky high from the film, only time will tell how much money will it end up making at the box office. But for now, let’s take a look at Khan’s three biggest openers so far. At the top of the list is of course Aditya Chopra’s Dhoom:3 which released last year during Christmas and featured Aamir in double role. Then we have Aamir-Kareena Kapoor Khan-Rani Mukerji starrer suspense thriller Talaash on the list which released in 2012. And the third highest opener of Khan is 3 Idiots which also starred Sharman Joshi, R Madhavan, Bebo and Boman Irani in important roles.
Dhoom:3 - The third installment of Dhoom franchise is the biggest opener of Aamir Khan so far. Co-starring Katrina Kaif, Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra, the film raked in Rs 36.22 crore and broke the opening day record of Shah Rukh Khan-Deepika Padukone starrer Chennai Express. However, this year King Khan reclaimed the record with his film Happy New Year which minted Rs 44.97 crore.
Talaash: Despite not being a typical Bollywood masala film, Reema Kagti’s directorial venture got off to a great start when it hit the screens in December 2012. On day 1, Talaash minted Rs 13.50 crore and then went on to make Rs 48 crore in the opening weekend breaking the record of 3 Idiots which collected Rs 40 crore in three days.
3 Idiots: After becoming the first hero to enter Rs 100 crore club, Aamir with this film became the first actor to enter Rs 200 crore club as well. Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, 3 Idiots not only impressed the critics but also managed to charm the audience. The film made approximately Rs 12.75 crore on day 1 and later became the first film to surpass Rs 200 crore mark.
