After Happy Ending, Humshakals and Bullett Raja’s failure, will Saif Ali Khan’s Phantom stand a chance?

The actor will soon be seen in the Kabir Khan directorial…

Saif Ali Khan has been in the film industry for a long time now and his career has seen a lot of ups and downs. From being part of an ensemble cast to becoming the lead, he has seen it all. The ace actor was on a high last year with Race 2 and Go Goa Gone doing great business at the box office, but with his last three releases, he hasn’t been able to crack the code. Starting with the unsuccessful Bullett Raja, followed by the Humshakals debacle and then the failure of Happy Ending, Saif ‘s career seems to be taking a dip.

The actor’s bank-ability has come under question with so many back to back flops. Now will all of this affect his future films? I wonder…

A source close to Saif, has informed that it is not Saif’s fault that the films are not doing well. The source says, “It’s not that Saif isn’t trying. He is doing varied roles. He is experimenting with his looks and he is also doing different genres of films with different directors. It’s a different thing that the films are not working. It maybe the flaw in the story or the direction or it can be anything. Saif can’t solely be made the scapegoat for the failures of the films.”

Now I believe that it’s true that Saif is trying different things but what I am really concerned about is that whether these failures will affect his upcoming Phantom, which is a very ambitious project by Kabir Khan, also starring Katrina Kaif. A trade analyst informs, “Firstly we have to see as to with which films is Phantom releasing. Then we also have to keep in mind the fact that Phantom will be a spy thriller. Kabir Khan’s previous spy thriller Ek Tha Tiger did really well at the box office. But Saif’s last spy thriller Agent Vinod didn’t. So all these factors will play in the mind of the viewers while thinking about spending 300 bucks for Phantom.”

I agree completely that the viewer would be thinking on the same lines. However, personally I think three flops should not be enough to write off an actor of the stature of Saif Ali Khan.

So go ahead guys, post your views about the same on the comments below.
