Ace filmmaker Sanjay Gupta wants to get the Agneepath star back onscreen with a bang…
Sanjay Dutt has been garnered with a lot of praises for his role as Rajisthani Bhaiyo for Rajkumar Hirani’s Aamir Khan starrer, PK. The actor, who is soon to be out of jail, is now gearing up for for Sanjay Gupta‘s sequel to the the hit 2002 film, Kaante.
Gupta informs that he is working on the sequel of Kaante and he will start rolling as soon as Dutt is out of prison. But wasn’t his character dead in the initial part of the film? We wonder… Gupta clarifies while speaking to a leading daily, “We have a fantastic script. We will be reviving the characters of Ajju, Major and Baali (played by Dutt, Amitabh Bachchan and Mahesh Manjrekar respectively). Since, in the first movie, all three had died by the end, you will have to suspend your disbelief when you watch the sequel. We are starting the film saying, ‘What if they were alive? If they hadn’t died and met 15-20 years later, what would happen?’ For Kaante fans, this film will be a treat.”
So now that Dutt is also aware of the sequel, we wonder whether Gupta has spoken to the other actors who were there in the film. “Yes, he (Dutt) knows about it. We are working on the script together. We have discussed it in detail. Even when he wrote to me (from jail), he said, ‘In my head, I am thinking and thrashing out what more we can do with it.’ Even before he went in, we were working on it. And once Sanju is out for good, and whenever he is ready to work on the script, I am there. I have discussed it at length with Mahesh too. I haven’t had the opportunity to discuss it with Amitji yet. Whenever I get that chance, I will do it. Sanju told me he has spoken to Amitji about it,” informed Gupta while speaking to a leading daily.
Now with almost everything in place we can’t wait for Gupta to finish shooting Jazbaa (Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Irrfan Khan) and Khotey Sikkey (John Abraham, Abhishek Bachchan, Anil Kapoor), so that he can work full fledged on the Kaante sequel. We are eagerly awaiting for Dutt to be back with a bang, what about you ?
