The actor will soon be seen in Abhishek Kapoor’s upcoming flick
Directed by Abhishek Kapoor, Fitoor is an adaptation of Charles Dickens’ novel Great Expectation. While we gave you a sneak peek into Rekha’s bridal avatar from the sets, we’ve now got our hands on Akshay Oberoi’s look from the film. And it seems to have been inspired from none other than Amitabh Bachchan. Here’s why…
He plays the love interest of young Rekha played by Aditi Rao Hydari. Since the story is set in the ’70s in Kashmir, the brief given to him by director Abhishek Kapoor was to create Bachchan’s look from Silsila and Kabhi Kabhi, which incidentally were also shot in the valley. Since Akshay is also tall, the director thought he would be able to carry off Bachchan’s famous ’70s look. Says a source, “Akshay will be seen sporting bell bottoms, sweater vests etc. To get his look right, he saw Silsila and Kabhi Kabhi before he started shooting.”
The film that stars Aditya Roy Kapur and Katrina Kaif in the lead, is slated to release on Christmas next year.
