Sania Mirza is busy teaching men the way to a woman’s heart on a TV show, but back in her own paradise, not everything seems to be fine.
There is strong buzz doing the rounds for sometime now, that her marriage to Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Malik might just be on the rocks. Are Sania Mirza and Shoaib Malik heading towards splitsville? Is divorce on cards for this lovely couple? These questions have been doing circles among the people who have been closely following tennis star Sania Mirza and Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik. Sania, who has lately been playing in International Premier Tennis League (IPTL) was last seen in the Delhi, partnering the Swiss great Roger Federer. Sania Mirza is enjoying the peak time of her professional life while her husband Shoaib Malik has been busy partying with Humaima Malick and her family in Karachi!
Now, Sania is known to be outspoken for she does not shy away from shooting from her lips to whatever questions have been thrown at her. But there’s one thing that Sania is just not ready to answer – about her marriage. And the best policy in such a case is to just avoid it.
However, it's the age of social media and nothing, absolutely nothing, remains hidden for long. So, the fact that the two sportspersons from two different countries, who tied the knot in 2010 amidst a lot of controversies and news headlines, are avoiding each other is becoming more and more obvious, raising the question – is all okay between Sania and Shoaib?
While Sania was busy partying with Roger Federer, Ana Ivonovic, Rohan Bopanna, Mahesh Bhupathi, Riteish Deshmukh and others in Delhi on Monday, Shoaib was partying with Humaima Malick and her family in Karachi. But that's not all.
It was early this year that buzz surrounding her marriage being on the rocks surfaced. When the buzz got stronger, Sania's father, Imran Mirza gave out a statement (in February) saying,
"There is nothing wrong in Sania and Shoaib's marriage."
Sometime later (in April), Sania herself was quoted as saying,
"Our marriage has not been easy because we are professional athletes and come from different countries and we knew there would be stress on us with time, but we have so far managed it well. There are no problems between us at all."
To prove rumours wrong, Sania then went on to (in July) post a romantic picture of Shoaib proposing to her with a flower which she titled 'proposal after a proposal'. Cut to the present, this "proposal after a proposal" post has been deleted from her social networking site.
"The cracks between their marriage came openly in light during the occasion of Eid, when Sania and Shoaib preffered to celebrate it individually. On the very same occasion, Sania posted a thank you note for everyone that have been part of her successful journey but not a word on Shoaib Malik."
She wrote, “This journey wld not hav bn possible without my family, my team, my partner and u guys. I thank Allah for blessing me with so much in my life.”
Shoaib too seems to be avoiding questions about trouble in paradise. Just recently, while reportedly doing a Q&A with his fans, he was asked by one of them - "y no combined pics of u n @MirzaSania on her Facebook profile?" to which "Shaoib replied,"ask Her?
Apart from this, the only time Sania has found a mention by Shoaib is when he retweeted Salman Khan's post.
"Wah yaarrr! sania mirza, kamaal karti ho . Like the spirit, issse bolteh hain kick ass . ." after Sania's nationality was questioned.
So while Sania does make statements like,
"My James Bond is in Pakistan and I just met him a couple of days back," she chooses to spend her free time in Hyderabad and not catching up with her husband.
Buzz suggests that the two have been avoiding each other for the past seven to eight months now. In fact, we recently asked her about her marriage hitting rock bottom while she was on her way to the Asian Games and Sania chose not to respond.
One of the heavy prices that the celebrities have to pay is with their personal life being constantly subjected to public scrutiny. Sania Mirza, who plays the role of sassy Bond girl while giving tips on how to woo a woman, on the Sony Pix series, Pix School of BONDing had called her husband, Shoaib Malik as her James Bond. But the way, their personal life has been heading towards the prolonged absence from each other’s life, once can sense the trouble brewing in their paradise.
