Here are five trailers that really made us want to watch the film. Which one did you like the most- Vote now!
With the whole ‘Best of 2014′ series going on BollywoodLife, how could we miss out on one of the most important aspects- the trailer of a film. Let’s be honest, whether we watch a movie or miss it relies more on how much the trailer impressed us than even the review of the film. The year has had a mix of both- the really intriguing, interest arousing trailers and the silly, doing-nothing-for-you kind of trailers. Here’s reckoning 5 trailers that managed to create a lot of buzz and excitement around the film...
PK
The PK trailer brought with it a large bag of surprises in the form of a Bhojpuri speaking alien with popping eyes and large ears. Rajkumar Hirani prominently revealed the characters of Anushka Sharma, Sanjay Dutt, Sushant Singh Rajput and Boman Irani while keeping the curiosity intact. And how can we forget Aamir Khan‘s nude stint with his legendary transistor that left our jaws hanging.
Highway
No mystery here! The trailer gives an idea of the main plot of the story- the kidnapper, the kidnapped and the love story. But what excites us in the video is the overall journey of the characters in the film. Randeep Hooda’s grey side leaves you intrigued while Alia Bhatt‘s incredibly quirky side leaves a smile on your face. Of course AR Rahman’s music only adds to the overall charm of the trailer.
Happy New Year
The first thing about the trailer that appeals is the larger than life feel to it. The mystery, the action, the drama, the comedy all packed together with a foot tapping music does the magic here. The interesting thing is that despite the fact that the trailer gives it all about the plot, you’re still left wanting; you just can’t stop wondering as to how these losers (Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Boman Irani, Vivaan Shah, Abhishek Bachchan and Sonu Sood) would pull off a robbery stint that grand.
Mary Kom
A Mary Kom biopic as the film is, the trailer gives you glimpses of the struggle of a 5 time World Boxing Champion. The hardships of the iron lady give you goosebumps and you can’t help wanting to find out how she achieved it all. The sheer effortlessness of Priyanka Chopra as Mary Kom, however, is the highlight of the trailer.
Haider
Though it was common knowledge that the film’s an adaptation of Hamlet, the trailer ups your curiosity about this grey character played by Shahid Kapoor and his mad antics. Shahid’s bad guy avatar became the most talked about as did his evolution as Haider. The trailer actually makes you think aggressively about him and his story. And Vishal Bharadwaj’s versatile music skills brought out the darkness of the story more efficiently.
