We’ve had some really innovative poster coming our way this year. Which one do you like the most? Vote!
Film poster have always had a very crucial role to play in a film’s introduction. It gives you the first impression of the film and can either up your curiosity instantly or turn you off the movie altogether. So here’s taking a look at some of 2014′s most attention grabbing posters that really intrigued us about the movies...
Aamir Khan’s PK
PK‘s poster where Aamir Khan so graciously let go of his clothes, became the talk of the town. The mystery behind is curious expression and the transistor he held had every one going crazy wonder what his character would be like. It sure is a bold move any A-Lister has ever attempted. Full points to the actor for sheer gut!
Salman Khan’s Jai Ho
The real impact of the poster lay in its old school feel. The idea of using brush stroked images rather than photos worked in favour of the film. What make them even more appealing are Salman’s intense expressions. The poster sure is a treat for all Salman Khan fans.
Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s 2 States
The beauty of the poster roots from how simply and aptly it summarizes the central idea of the film. The map, the north-south positioning of the Arjun and Alia and their attempt to hold hands; it just says it all. Kudos to its simplicity!
Akhilesh Jaiswal’s Mastram
We are hoping the double meaning of the image on the poster is not lost on anyone. The makers released a series of posters on similar lines, but this one was quirky, simple, vulgar all at once.
Shahid Kapoor’s Haider
Since it was a well known that Haider is the third installment of Vishal Bharadwaj’s Shakespearan trilogy, there wasn’t any mystery surronding the Shahid Kapoor starrer. But the first look of the film where Shahid holds a skull in his hand revealed the dark and chilling world of Haider.
Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif’s Bang Bang
One of the biggest commercial release of the year was Hrithik and Katrina’s Bang Bang. The first look of the film convenientl portrayed both sides of Hrithik. While, on the one hand, he seems lost in Katrina’s eyes, on the other hand, he’s seen holding a gun. Well, we at least, fell in love with the action packed romantic avatar of Hrithik almost immideately.
Rajkumarr Rao’s Citylights was a critically acclaimed movie. A simple story of a poor family from a village travels to Mumbai to live a better life. While the poster is very simple but truly depicts the feeling of the story through amalgamation of the skyscrapers and the two characters. Hence this poster stands out amongst all the commercial poster we selected.
Filmistaan
This National award winning film handles some serious issues in a very comical manner. Again the charm of the poster is the old school feel. While the poster does nothing to reveal the story, it sure is high on humour ans instantly demands your attention.
Deepika Padukone’s Finding Fanny
Homi Adajani’s multi-starrer Finding Fanny had all eyes when it released its first poster. It wasn’t just for the fact that the poster displays all the characters, unlike other films, but also because the quirky and wacky stints every character is pulling had us in spilts.
Randeep Hooda and Alia Bhatt’s Highway
Alia pulling the gun at someone and shedding off her baby looks, has got to be the highlight of the poster. Though it did not give any insight into teh film, the poster sure upped our curiosity.
