Konkana Sen Sharma entered Bollywood in 2002 with critically acclaimed film Mr and Mrs Iyer which also starred Rahul Bose in the lead. The powerful performance in this English flick earned her National Film Award for Best Actress and since then there has been no looking back for this talented actress. Mr and Mrs Iyer: This list would be of no use if we didn’t mention this film which is directed by Konkana’s mother Aparna Sen. Released in 2002, Mr and Mrs Iyer not only got Ranvir’s wifey noticed but the actress managed to impress the critics and audience alike with her acting chops as well. The film also earned her first National Award. Not only she portrayed the role of a Tamil Brahmin wife with great ease, she even got the accent right for her character.

Page 3: Her first commercial break in Bollywood was Madhur Bhandarkar’s directorial venture Page 3. In this flick, Konkana played the role of Page 3 journalist and she nailed it too perfection. She even won took away the Best Female Debut trophy at Zee Cine Awards for her dumdaar acting.

15 Park Avenue: Konkana again teamed up with her mother in 2005 for this film along with Rahul Bose. With this film, the Bong beauty proved her versatility as an actor and walked away with loads of appreciation. 15 Park Avenue wherein Sen Sharma played a Schizophrenic, also on the National Award for Best Feature Film in English.

Omkara: In 2006, Konkana starred in Vishal Bhardwaj’s critically acclaimed film Omkara alongside Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan. Despite having so many A-listers in the film, Aparna Sen’s daughter managed to shine in the desi adaptation of Othello. That’s not all! With this film, Konkana picked up her second National Award but this time in the Supporting Actress category.

Wake Up Sid: The unusual pairing of Ranbir Kapoor and Konkana surprised many as the duo delivered a hit together in the form of Wake Up Sid. While Jr Kapoor got all the girls going crazy after him, his co-star charmed everyone with her simplicity and of course acting.
