Col (Retd) Shuja Khanzada (T.Bt.) son of Mr Yousaf Khanzada of village Shadi Khan comes of Yousafzai clan of Pathans. He graduated in 1966 from Islamia College, Peshawar. He was commissioned in Pakistan Army in 1967 and participated actively in 1971 Indo-Pak War. He served as Instructor/Staff Appointment during 1974-78, 1982-83, commanded 13 Lancers during 1983-85 and was awarded gallantry award “Tamgha-e-Basalat” in 1988. He was amongst the first few to reach Siachin Glacier in 1983. He was posted as Military Attache to the Embassy of Pakistan in Washington DC, during 1992-94; later, he was seconded to the Embassy of Pakistan, as Minister Information. An agriculturist, who served as Member, Punjab Assembly during 2002-07 and functioned as Special Assistant to the Chief Minister, Punjab and as Minister for CMIT & I&C. He has returned to the Assembly in general elections 2008 and is working as Chairman, Chief Minister’s Task Forces on Agriculture and Police Training Reforms. He has extensively traveled abroad. His grandfather, Capt Ajab Khan served as Member, Indian Legislative Assembly and his uncle, late Capt (Retd) Taj Muhammad Khanzada served as Member National/Provincial Assembly, Majlis-e-Shura during the past 40 years.
