The makers of the Gurmeet Choudhary, Sapna Pabbi and Ali Fazal starrer psycho thriller seem confused as to what the script was originally called…
Not many know but the Bhatts had intended to make Khamoshiyan a part of the Raaz franchise. Mahesh Bhatt reveals that Khamoshiyan that stars TV’s heartthrob Gurmeet Choudhary, Ali Fazal and Sapna Pabbi was originally supposed to be titled Raaz 4. The reason being that the film is closer to the Raaz franchise in story-telling and breath-taking songs that the franchise movies always have had. However, the Bhatts, later chose to let Khamoshiyan have an identity of its own.
Mahesh Bhatt confirms saying, “Yes, it is true. We deliberated for a long time but later we decided that Khamoshiyan should stand on its own feet. It’s a tremendous film with incredible music. We have released two songs so far from the film and both songs have become super-hits. This goes to show the power of the album and the positive appeal that the cast and the content of the film is receiving from audiences and fans. We are extremely thrilled with the response so far and we are gearing up for the release of Khamoshiyan on Jan 30.”
However, all of this would have been true had the Bhatts not contradicted their statement a few weeks back. They had informed that Khamoshiyan script was written by Vikram Bhatt as Haunted 2, but later on they decided to let it go as a separate film and therefore, changed it to Khamoshiyan. It was said that Vikram passed on the script to Karan Darra, the director of Khamoshiyan. Vikram Bhatt revealed then, “Khamoshiyan was my Haunted 2. I wanted to make it as the sequel to Haunted.”
Now we don’t know which statement to believe because both Haunted and Raaz are popular franchises of the Bhatt camp.
