If you thought Deepika Padukone could only sneak out on dates with lover boy, Ranveer Singh then well, here’s a twist. The Ram Leela actress recently ventured out on a special date with Pizza 3D fame, Akshay Oberoi. Yes!

However, it’s not the romantically inclined tale that’s pricking your head. Akshay is said to be making a cameo appearance in Deepika’s forthcoming film, Piku and that’s exactly how they got to bond over this exciting new, date story!

Elaborating on the same, an insider revealed, “It’s a sequence where Deepika is seen going out on a date with a young man. However, instead of being a romantic outing, it goes horribly wrong. It’s a funny sequence which took about two days to wrap up.” Sounds fun, right?

Directed by Shoojit Sircar, Piku also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Irrfan Khan and is expected to release around April, 2015.
