With just hours ahead its release, we tell you why Mr Perfectionist is so sure about PK‘s success
The superhit jodi of Rajkumar Hirani and Aamir Khan are back with an intriguing piece of cinema called PK, which has got everyone hooked. Aamir’s role has kept everyone guessing, the promos have been designed so slyly as to not divulge to the major theme of the film. While many filmi pundits claim it is a risky proposition for PK for keeping the plot under tight wraps, Aamir seems to be unperturbed with somewhat lukewarm publicity of PK.
In fact, Ghajini star seems to be too confident about PK‘s success. What makes us say this? Well, lets take you through a short tour of big films that released over the year. Be it Kick or Happy New Year or Bang Bang, the makers of all the three films understood the wide market of regional cinema and capitalised on it by releasing Tamil and Telugu dubbed versions of the film. Even Aamir’s last Christmas release, Dhoom 3, was dubbed in Tamil and Telugu, earning sizeable revenue from the dubbed versions.
But surprisingly, PK is not dubbed in any of the South Indian languages, which makes us wonder why Aamir is not too keen to tap in on the regional market. Is Mr Khan being over confident about his film’s success, that he hopes to rake huge profits without the support from dubbed versions of the film? Another theory is that, PK has a lot of Bhojpuri dialogues, whose flavour will be lost in translation if dubbed. Will this gamble from Aamir Khan and Raju Hirani pay off? Lets wait and watch.
