The actor is prepping up for the role of a lifetime…
Ranveer Singh has all that it takes to be the king of the hill in Bollywood. Not just good looks and acting talent but the sincerity to surrender it all to a film role is what makes Ranveer a favourite with filmmakers!
Currently, Ranveer has immersed himself in the making of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s period drama Bajirao Mastani. The actor locked himself in a hotel room for a considerable span of time prepping for the role. He even decided to shave his head as he didn’t want to compromise on the authenticity of his character in the film.
His hair wasn’t the only price Ranveer paid to play the role of Bajirao to the T. An insider reveals that Ranveer wears lenses throughout the day (it is a part of his character in the film) even though they hurt his eyes! Mr Singh also shaves his head daily as he wants to look as similar to Peshwa Bajirao as he can.
The role requires him to deliver lengthy dialogues in a heavy Marathi accent, and Ranveer tries to keep improving his accent by speaking to members of the crew in the same Marathi accent even when the cameras aren’t rolling.
Ranveer has put a lot of sweat, blood (and hair) into Bajirao Mastani and we just hope that all the hard work pays off!
