Kangana Ranaut first teamed up with Anand L Rai for Tanu Weds Manu which released in 2011 and turned out to be a hit. The duo is now working on its sequel and though the film hasn’t wrapped up, the Raanjhanaa director already has one more script in mind for Ms Ranaut. Well, Rai is so impressed with the Queen actress’ work that he wants her to play the lead in one of his next projects. What’s even more is interesting is that Kangana will play a modern-day Heer in the film. While talking to a leading daily, Anand L Rai said, “Kangana and I love to work with each other. After Tanu Weds Manu, I wanted to challenge the actor in her, and she overcame those challenges very smoothly. So, I decided to come up with something even more challenging for her.”
The Tanu Weds Manu director also confirmed that the B-town beauty will be a tragedy in queen the film. He further added, “Yes, that idea has always been in my mind. I have already had a tryst with tragedy (2013 directorial venture Raanjhanaa) so I don’t mind revisiting it. But the idea will take its own time. I haven’t set a deadline for it since I can’t think of anything else except the sequel right now.”
Well, Kangana is one actor who has always experimented with her roles so we won’t be surprised if she pulls off the tragedy queen avatar with great ease. After all, edgy roles are her forte, hai na?
