T-Series upcoming film Baby, an action thriller which is helmed by Director Neeraj Pandey and stars Akshay Kumar in the lead, is fast emerging as one of the most talked about films in B-Town Today. The trailer of the highly-anticipated espionage thriller 'Baby', which was released on Wednesday, raked in over a million views in less than 24 hours on YouTube.
We are not new to seeing gun-toting terrorists in Bollywood films with Muslim names who are often deemed of having internal connections with Pakistan’s ISI but to know that our own veteran actor Rasheed Naz has signed on to portray a terrorist surely leaves us with a bitter taste in our mouths. According to media reports, Rasheed Naz who is known for his work in notable television plays and was last seen playing the role of extremist Maulana Tahiri in the critically-acclaimed Khuda Key Liye will be reprising a similar role in upcoming Bollywood film Baby.
Needless to say, no matter how much artists have tried to change perceptions certain B-towners have largely relied on an anti-Pakistan agenda for the success of their films. However, roping in a Pakistani actor for such a role is just pushing the envelope almost to the edge. Do we see a potential ban in Pakistani cinemas?
We bring to you the first look of the Pakistani actor Rashid Naz, who has been roped in to play Maulana Abdul Rahman, who is the mastermind and founder of one of the most deadliest and most active fundamentalist terror groups across the world. Known for his fiery speeches and ability to instigate, he has trained his guns to cause major harm to India and is on the most wanted list of the FBI, Interpol and the Indian agencies.
We bring you the first look of Neeraj Pandey's Maulana. Gulshan Kumar presents Baby, a Crouching Tiger and Friday Filmworks Production, directed by Neeraj Pandey, produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Shital Bhatia, Cape of Good Films & Crouching Tiger releasing on January 23, 2015.
