Namo’s government has been under scrutiny for supposedly neglecting the minority communities. The PM has roped in Big B for an ad that preaches secularism. Damage control? Read on to know more!
We are well aware of Amitabh Bachchan’s association with the Gujarat campaign where he advertises the beauty of the state with appealing visuals and his deep set, soothing voice. Reports suggest that the Shamitabh actor has now been roped in by PM Narendra Modi, for an ad which preaches secularism. The advertisement apparently features Big B talking about the diverse culture of India, while flying a kite. The visuals showcase the actor comparing different regions and castes of India to a rainbow and saying,” But does education have any caste? Does development have any religion? Does progress belong to any particular sect?”
It seems like the PM is aiming to do some damage control at the last minute. Having been criticised for supposedly neglecting the minority groups in India, it seems the NDA government is now trying to make amends.
Minsiter of Affairs, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said in a statement,” It is true that there are misgivings among minority communities about this government. Their confidence has to be won. That will not happen sitting inside the office, it will only happen when you go to them in the field. That is why I have decided to go back to the field — not as a minister but as a political and social activist — to look at how schemes are being implemented on the ground.”
Well, we wonder what Big B’s ad is like! We are curious to see it, are you guys ?
