Oh My God director Umesh Shukla rubbishes rumours about being offered Rs 8 crore by Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani!

Oh My God director while talking to a leading daily cleared the air about the whole controversy which shocked many few days a back…

Ever since the first poster of Rajkumar Hirani’s directorial venture PK got leaked, the film has been in the news. Aamir Khan and Anushka Sharma starrer, which released last Friday and got off to a flying start, courted yet another controversy when news about Khan, Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra offering Rs 8 crore to OMG – Oh My God director Umesh Shukla grabbed headlines. By now we all know PK is thematically similar to Akshay Kumar starrer which released in 2012. However, recently media reports claimed that when Aamir, Rajkumar Hirani and Vidhu Chopra came to know that OMG’s story line was similar to PK, they apparently met Umesh Shukla and even offered him big moolah to stop shooting of his film. And all this happened when Oh My God was still being shot.

This piece of information certainly raised many eyebrows but the truth is now finally out. Umesh Shukla told a leading daily that the reports of him being offered Rs 8 crore by the makers of PK are nothing but baseless rumours. He said, “I don’t know from where such baseless rumours have come up. This is nonsense. These (Aamir, Rajkumar Hirani, Vidhu Vinod Chopra) are good people and they can never do such a thing. When you pick the subject of God, then similarities do come. Don’t challenge the creativity of the film unnecessarily and make a big deal about it.”
