The Aamir-Rajkumar combo has struck gold at the Box office as PK earns Rs 183.09 crore in it’s first week
It seems like Aamir Khan as Bhojpuri speaking alien in PK has outsmarted Aamir Khan as super-chor in Dhoom 3. The Satyamev Jayate host’s latest offering at the theatre has emerged as a big winner at the box office, as Raju Hirani’s PK has raked in Rs 183.09 crore by the end of first week. In the process of achieving this mean feat, PK has become the highest grossing Hindi film in terms of first week Box office collection, beating AK’s last year blockbuster Dhoom 3.
Dhoom 3, which was released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu made huge money at the Box office in the opening week. But taking only the Hindi version into consideration (since PK was released only in Hindi) Dhoom 3 made Rs 178.97 crores at the box office. This makes PK, not only the biggest hit of Aamir’s career, but also makes it the highest grossing film in the opening week ever.
With good word of mouth publicity, and praises showering from all corners, and no big release this week to threaten PK‘s might at the Box office, we expect Aamir’s alien magic will continue to keep the audience hooked in the coming weeks.
