Punjab’s Big B, Gippy Grewal to make his Bollywood debut with Govinda’s daughter

The Punjabi heartthrob is gearing up for his Bollywood film with Narmada

The Punjabi singer-actor Gippy Grewal, who has acted in 10 back-to-back Punjabi blockbusters, is all set to make his debut in Hindi cinema. The film, a rom-com entitled Second Hand Husband, would star Gippy with Govinda’s daughter Narmadda.

“I’ve waited a while to do a Hindi film. By God’s grace, I was doing well for myself in Punjabi cinema. But at the end of the day, no matter how successful, my Punjabi films are targeted only at a certain community across the globe. It was time for me to try to broaden my fan base,” he says adding that, “I had decided that whenever I did a Hindi film, it would be something as out-of-the-box as Vicky Donor. I think I’ve found that project in Hindi.” The film will be dircted by Smeep Kang.

The Punjabi star says he’s not looking at shifting base, “I am only trying to expand my horizon by doing a Hindi film. For this reason, I have established a base in Mumbai. It’s very important for Bollywood producers to know that I am serious about my career in mainstream cinema as well.”

Second Hand Husband also stars veteran actor Dharmendra along with Gippy and Narmada.
