The actress returns to Television with a cause
Sakshi Tanwar last seen in Bade Acche Laggte Hai is returning to TV with a reality show. She will be anchoring the crime show Code Red that will go on air next year. The show according to sources will highlight crimes against women and children and deal with issues like suicide — what drives people to end their life and other psychological entrapments like a bad marriage, cheating husband, etc. And Sakshi as the presenter will highlight the problems and encourage people to reach out to troubled individuals and talk to them. “The idea is to make people understand that they can do something to help, sometimes by just talking to the person who is undergoing some problem. It’s not about the crime but what could have been done to prevent it,” says a source. The cases based on real incidents will be recreated a la Crime Patrol, but the approach will be different, adds the source. Incidentally, Sakshi never shies away from raising her voice against crimes — she was one of the first to speak against the Delhi brutal gang rape and also took up for Shweta Basu Prasad when she found herself in trouble with the law.
