The Kochadaiiyaan actor has beaten every Indian actor and here’s how…

Rajinikanth has time and again proved how deserving he is of his ‘Thalaiva‘ title. With his latest release Lingaa he has gone way ahead of our Bollywood stars. How you ask. Well, grapevine has it that Rajini was paid a whopping Rs 60 crore to work in Lingaa, which easily surpasses the benchmark of Rs 50 crore set by Hrithik Roshan a few months back when he signed Ashutosh Gowariker’s Mohenjodaro.

While Hrithik denied the news by saying, “What I charge is my business. And would you be in a business which does not look like a profitable proposition? I’m justified in what I am charging,” a source close to Rajinikanth confirmed his payment for the film. We tried to get in touch with the makers of Lingaa, but in vain.

Rajinikanth’s Lingaa is one of the most anticipated films of the year, and is being referred to as the biggest Rajini release since Enthiran (Robot). Its music, given by AR Rahman, is already running high on the charts. Even the promos and trailers have set the pedestal for a superb Rajinikanth film. Given this scenario, there is no doubt that Lingaa will turn out to be a profitable project for the makers despite the huge chunk shed on the actor.

The film that also stars Anushka Shetty, Sonakshi Sinha, Santhanam, Dev Gill and Karunakaran is believed, by trade sources, to break all previous records set by Indian films.

So BollywoodLifers, what do you think – is Rajinikanth justified in charging Rs 60 Crores for Lingaa? Post in your comments below!
