A string of politicians in the recent past have made foot-in-mouth statements about women, which obviously didn’t go down too well with the masses. And now it’s Navin Tyagi, general secretary of the UP unit of Hindu Mahasabha, a right wing outfit, who has joined the list of stupid politicos with ridiculous quotes.
Navin has come under the bad light of people for his statement demanding actresses doing item numbers in movies should be declared as prostitutes. According to him, women who earn money by indulging in obscenity are prostitutes and that they are spreading filth in society.
So does that mean Katrina Kaif, Kareena Kapoor, Bipasha Basu, Priyanka Chopra, among many other B-town actresses, who have done item numbers be declared as sex workers?
That’s not it. He has also demanded that college girls should be banned from wearing skirts and jeans and they shouldn’t be allowed to carry mobile phones too.
Tyagi added that he will take the matter to Supreme Court. Tyagi’s statement has been condemned by different political parties.

Tyagi’s statement is undoubtedly outright regressive. It’s shocking to see that such bizarre statements are becoming increasingly frequent in our country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has emphasized that he wants to build a modern India, but unless such groups continue to exist in our society, India’s image will only ruin.
