The long due Anurag Kashyap thriller has finally hit the big screen. Is it worth your time and money? Read on…
After the phenomenal success of his Gangs of Wasseypur series, it has been a long time since an Anurag Kashyap directed film hit the theatres. Though he did helm one of the four short stories in Bombay Talkies, his fans were eagerly awaiting to witness Kashyap’s vision through his crime thriller Ugly. Starring Ronit Roy, Rahul Bhatt and Tejaswini Kolhapure, Ugly after prolonged delay has finally arrived at theatres near you.
Our reviewer, Prateek Sur, is watching the film and here is his first impression of the film till interval:
A little girl gets kidnapped in mumbai. She is d daughter of an aspiring film actor who is divorced. His ex wife is now married to a high ranking police officer whim the whole department is scared of.Will they now be able to get d girl back from d kidnappers forms the main plot of the story.
Till now the movie has shown the dark underbelly of Mumbai. How the police take people for granted is hinted upon and how when things get lost in Mumbai they remain lost never to be found again
Performances by Rahul Bhatt and Tejaswini has been good..but it is Ronit Roy who steals the show with his stellar performance. Also if ur lucky u can see Alia Bhatt in a blink and miss scene. Till now this film has been the most entertaining film this Christmas.. Will it live up to d expectations in d second half? Wait and watch.
