The ace producer has finally gone global and he plans to club it with his grandest Indian project ever, PK
The teaser trailer of Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s Hollywood film Broken Horses is set to launch in cinemas worldwide on the 19th Dec, along with Aamir Khan starrer PK. According to Fox Star Studios, which is marketing and distributing Broken Horses in India, the move will enable the widest possible sampling ever by an Indian audience for a Hollywood film, given that P.K. is opening to a record number of screens.
Shikha Kapur, Chief Marketing Officer of Fox Star Studios says, “Vidhu Vinod Chopra is a name that you reckon with impactful cinema . His films have blurred boundaries, created conversations and narrated stories that have redefined an entire movie-going generation. Broken Horses follows this solid tradition and it’s first teaser trailer will reach out to reach out to a broad audience demographic . It’s only apt that the teaser is being attached to PK- which will be released in an unprecedented number of screens, thereby enabling it to be seen by a large majority. We, at Fox Star Studios, are privileged that we are partnering with Vidhu Vinod Chopra for his first ever Hollywood directorial feature, reinforcing our commitment to invest in cinema that is ever- evolving and impactful – cinema that matters.”
Broken Horses marks acclaimed filmmaker Chopra’s Hollywood directorial debut, in a career spanning over three decades and several critically acclaimed and commercially successful films such as Parinda, 1942: A Love Story, Parineeta, Mission Kashmir, 3 idiots and the Munna Bhai series. It is also the first time that an Indian filmmaker has written, produced and directed a mainstream Hollywood film. Reliance Entertainment is presenting the film together with Vinod Chopra Films.
Set in the shadows of the US–Mexico border gang wars, Broken Horses is an epic thriller about the bonds of brotherhood, the laws of loyalty, and the futility of violence. The film has been written by Chopra and Abhijat Joshi.
Releasing on the 10th of April, Broken Horses’ features Vincent D’Onofrio, Anton Yelchin, Chris Marquette and Maria Valverde.
