After having given us serious films like My Name Is Khan and Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, director Karan Johar has something different to offer us with his next. Read on to know more!

Karan Johar is a witty man. The same has been evident from some hilarious puns he has put forth in his popular talk show Koffee With Karan. The director however has often taken the serious path when it comes to making movies. Though there are some funny moments in his ventures which make many go LOL or ROFL, the essential genre presented by him has been that of a sombre nature.

But things are about to change as Kjo prepares to come knocking on a doors with his titled Ae Dil Hai Mushkil which is a romantic comedy! Starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma, this film is reportedly set to go on floors mid next year and is not a conventional love story which we often come across.

Let’s take a look at some of his previous films starting with Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham. Though it had its rib tickling moments, the film portrayed the important bond that parents and their children share or should share. Coming to Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, this film tapped the social stigma attached to extra marital affairs and presented a different point of view for the same. My Name Is Khan was an all out serious flick which highlighted the social issue of racism and the story of protagonist Rizwan Khan(Shah Rukh Khan) who suffered from the asparagus syndrome.

Student Of The Year is often mistaken for a jovial-feel good movie. It had entertaining dance numbers and a larger than life feel to it yes, but the film essentially highlighted the cons of competition. It brought forth the vile nature of rivalry and how it can affect relationships. The only difference was that the venture was padded up and put out on the table with immense magnanimity.

Now that Kjo has declared his next to be a rom com, we are expecting the director to take inspiration from his own sense of humour and put it on celluloid. If the ingredients witty, hilarious, pun-intended and a tad bit snarky are present, Ae Dil Muhskil will be one tasty dish!
