Bipasha’s upcoming film Alone is set to see its release in January. While we eagerly wait to see the hottie showing her deadly side yet again, we take a look at some of her previous horror films
There was a time when Urmila Matondkar was termed as the ‘queen of horror’ with films like Kaun, Bhoot and Naina. It seems Bipasha Basu is all set to continue the legacy of the title with her upcoming film Alone starring Karan Singh Grover. After her disastrous venture Creature 3D, the beauty is set to turn the tables with her next and the trailer of the same has managed to generate a buzz and curiosity amongst the masses. While we wait to see Bipasha scaring the daylights out of us with Alone, here is a look at some of her previous horror films:Raaz
Bipasha Basu’s Raaz opposite Dino Morea is considered to be one of her most popular ventures till date. The actress played Sanjana in the film, who is going through a troubled marriage with Aditya (Dino) and haunted by a spirit in her house. The plot of the film was intriguing as it involved ‘the other woman’ in Aditya’s life who was revealed to be the spirit haunting Sanjana with an aim to tell her dark secrets from the past. Where the film became a big hit, Bipasha’s performance was well appreciated too
Darna Zaroori Hai
This film was the sequel of Darna Mana Hai which was released in the year 2003. Darna Zaroori Hai followed the plot of its previous venture Darna Mana Hai where it involved a sequence of six plots. Bipasha was seen in a story titled ‘Spirits do come’ which also starred Arjun Rampal. Though playing mini role in the multi-starred venture, Bipasha’s performance was memorable and the concept of the plot managed to send chills down several spines!
Raaz 3D
In this sequel of Raaz, Bipasha played the role of an ace actress Shanaya. Threatened by her associate Sanjana’s growing success (Esha Gupta) in the industry, Shanaya decides to make Sanjana’s life a living hell, by calling a spirit to haunt her. The film wasn’t a hit like Raaz but managed to do good business nonetheless. It also starred Emraan Hashmi who was seen romancing the two beauties. We like how the genre of horror was presented with a glamorous touch!
Aatma
This film was released last year and didn’t manage to hit the mark at the box office. Starring Nawazuddin Siddique (Abhay) and Bipasha Basu (Maya), the film’s plot revolved around a troubled couple and their daughter Nia. Abhay and Maya are separated and their daughter Nia lives with her mother. Abhay dies in a car accident and the news of his death is hidden from Nia. Later Abhay’s spirit possesses Nia’s body in order to steal her away from her mother, Maya. Unique concept, right folks?
Creature 3D
Well this one, isn’t our favourite. The film saw its release this year and was a monster thriller science fiction venture. The storyline involved Ahana Dutt (played by Bipasha Basu) who was seen fighting a creature whose tail was shaped like that of a dinosaur with a body and head of a human! Many went WTF while seeing Bipasha hitting a new low in the film but we guess the beauty is about to make things right with her upcoming film, Alone.
