YRF reschedules the release of Sushant Singh Rajput starrer Detective Byomkesh Bakshi!
The makers have revised the release date to avoid clash with 2015 Cricket World Cup
Dibaker Banerjee’s directorial venture Detective Byomkesh Bakshi was set to hit the screens next year on February 13. Starring Sushant Singh Rajput in the lead, the film produced under Yash Raj banner, will now release on April 10. Since the much-awaited 2015 Cricket World Cup will kick off from February 14, the makers of Detective Byomkesh Bakshi want to avoid the clashing of their film with the cricket series. More importantly, India and Pakistan are set to play on Sunday which is February 15. So any film which releases during that weekend will surely get hit by the cricket mania. And that’s the biggest reason why Sushant’s film has now been pushed ahead.
While talking to a leading, a source close to this development said, “The weekend match is between India and Pakistan which is bound to affect the collection of the film as February 15 is a Sunday and if India and Pakistan plays on that day, footfall is expected to drop.”
Apart from Dibaker Banerjee’s detective film, Salman Khan’s Hero remake starring newbies Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty was also slated to release on February 13. But due to World Cup and IPL, the makers are now planning to release the film in June, 2015.
