Anubhav Sinha’s latest production venture Zid starring Priyanka Chopra’s cousin Mannara, Karavir Sharma and Shraddha Das hasn’t managed to rake in big moolah at the box office. But the psychological thriller has fared decently at the ticket windows despite the fact that the film doesn’t star any established actors. On day 1, Mannara starrer got off to a slow start and ended up collecting Rs 2.82 crore. Over the weekend the collections were pretty much the same but the figures were better on Sunday. On day 3, the film minted Rs 3.12 crore thus bringing its opening weekend total to Rs 8.86 crore at the domestic box office.
On the other hand, Emraan Hashmi, Kangana Ranaut, Randeep Hood and Sanjay Dutt starrer Ungli received lukewarm response at the BO over the weekend. In fact, Karan Johar’s production venture couldn’t even surpass the Rs 10 crore mark at the ticket windows. As for Zed Plus, the film opened poorly across the country.
