While Pakistani actors seem to be making their way into Bollywood with Fawad Khan starring with Sonam Kapoor in Khoobsurat, Mahira Khan making her trip to Bollywood for a movie with the King of Bollywood Shahrukh Khan and Ali Zafar making his mark in Kill Dill, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan and several other ventures, Pakistani films are also now turning heads in India.
Visiting for the Karachi Youth Festival the acclaimed legendary Indian actor/director Naseeruddin Shah, seems convinced and advocating for Pakistani movies to be screened in India!
Now that really is something isn’t it?
While speaking about Pakistani movies, he appreciated the Pakistani actors and dramas and further added that Indian directors and audience is quite impressed with the work Pakistani media is putting across.
This can be very well understood from how Humsafar and Zindagi Gulzar Hai went on air in India and were appreciated by the Indian audience.
Talking to a leading newspaper, the Naseeruddin Shah said he hoped to have Pakistani movies screened in India in the following words: “Indian films are screened in Pakistan and appreciated by the Pakistani audience so Pakistani films should also be released in India. Even the Indian audiences want to watch Pakistani films on their cinema screens and Pakistani artists have a huge fan following in India.”
The legendary actor has previously done phenomenal work in the Pakistani movies, Zinda Bhaag and Khuda Ke Liye and is rumored to later return this year for another role in a local movie. The actor visited Pakistan again for the Lahore Literary Week 2015 which was held from 20th to 22nd February 2015.
