Bollywood actor Salman Khan recently told a presiding officer at a Jodhpur court that he was both Muslim and Hindu.
Talk about diversity, even in religion!
Bollywood actor Salman Khan was recently in Jodhpur to appear before the court to record his statement on charges that he used illegal firearms during Blackbucks (a protected animal) shooting case of 1998. Salman has been recently in hot water for a hit and run case which left one person dead.
Salman left everyone present at the occasion speechless and amazed when the presiding officer asked him what was his caste, to which he replied at first,”I am Indian.”
Salman was curtly told that Indian was not a caste, to which he replied,
”I am Hindu and Muslim.”
The answer left many confused and amazed but after further clarification was demanded from the actor, he elaborated that his father was a Muslim and his mother was a Hindu. The state forest department had registered a case against Salman for poaching Blackbucks. The alleged poaching took place at village Kankani near Jodhpur on the intervening night of October 1 and 2 in 1998.
Salman’s upcoming movies include Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, whom he shot alongside famed actress Sonam Kapoor. He will also be seen in Bajrangi Bhaijan opposite Kareena Kapoor and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. The star actor could face imprisonment for up to 10 years if he is found guilty in another, separate hit and run case. The verdict for the hit and run case is bound to be released on May 6th.
