The Peshawar-raised songstress, Gul Panrra has been crooning in her signature innocent voice since a few years now. Initially limiting her audience to friends in school or college, it was during her Masters program from the University of Peshawar where she gained confidence to take to her passion professionally.
Facing the lack of support in the early days and for someone who’s career choice became apparent to family only when someone brought home a newspaper clipping with her portrait and a feature on her song, Panrra has come far. Drawn to honing her vocals, well versed in Pushto and Persian, she has been training under Ustad Nazir Gul Ghaffar for the last two-years. All along recording tracks in her varied style ranging from folk and pop, for singles as well as film scores.
In her Coke Studio debut, in Season 8, Gul Panrra sings in Persian while she shares the platform with the pop-icon Atif Aslam, in a duet of a romantic love-ballad of an old classic Iranian song.
