DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Banned militant outfit, Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Hakimullah group has claimed responsibility of kidnapping a Chinese tourist in northwestern part of Pakistan, local media reported.
Senior militant commander Abdullah Bahar Mehsud claimed responsibility for the abduction of foreign tourist from Dera Ismail Khan district of the Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
Chinese tourist, Hong Xu Dong, went missing yesterday from Daraban town located in Dera Ismail Khan District while travelling on his cycle from Lahore to Balochistan via Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province.
The militant commander stated that the foreign tourist will be released on extradition basis by the Pakistani authorities against their militant prisoners present in custody of the country’s security agencies, reports said.
Pakistan’s security forces commenced a large-scale search operation in Garah Mehmood area after recovering the tourist’s belongings in the area including his cycle.
