The Singham Returns director was moved by Rajinikanth’s humbleness
Hit machine Rohit Shetty paid a tribute to Thalaiva, with YoYo Honey Singh’s chartbuster Lungi dance in Chennai Express. Nearly, after an year of the film’s release, Rajinikanth paid his tribute to the Bollywood director, when they had a chance meeting in Hyderabad.
According to a source, the Singham Returns director had paid a visit to the sets of Rajinikanth-Sonakshi Sinha starrer Lingaa in Hyderabad. When Rajini got to know that Rohit was present on the sets, we hear that Thalaiva took a half an hour break from shooting to meet and greet the filmmaker.
Rohit Shetty was left starstruck when he met Kochadaiiyaan actor in person. The director gushed,” Rajini Sir walked across to me; greeted me and said, ‘Rohit, I love your work. I’m a great fan.’ I was about to faint. I kept telling myself, this is Rajini Sir, who according to me, is the biggest star in the universe. Yet he was so humble.”
It was a dream come true for Bollywood’s superhit director to be appreciated for his work by none other than Thalaiva himself. A source reveals that Rohit also took few pictures with Rajinikanth, but Lingaa director KS Ravikumar requested him to not to post the pics online as it would reveal the much guarded look of Rajini.
With Rohit Shetty’s next release, Singham Returns, all set to hit the screens this Independence Day, we wonder if the ace filmmaker had gone to seek Thalaiva’s blessings. After all there is a strong belief that it was Rajini power behind Modi’s unprecedented victory in elections. Wink! Wink!
