The entire controversy around Deepika Padukone‘s cleavage just got dirtier yesterday. It all started when Deepika took to social media to criticise an article headlined ‘OMG: Deepika Padukone exposes cleavage!’ that featured in a leading daily. Several B-town celebs and people across the country supported the actress even after that when she had spoken out against them in an open letter. And yesterday, the daily replied to Deepika’s letter accompanied by the heroine’s bikini clad photoshoot pictures from various magazine covers! Naturally, it further anguished a lot of people. So while people from outside the fraternity are having different opinions about this whole tamashaa, here is what Hrithik Roshan and Kalki Koechlin have to say about it.
Kalki believes the entire episode is a blow to the feminist movement in India. “It is difficult for me to even contemplate the unfairness of the situation. The way the publication has lashed out at the actress despite being at fault is really pathetic. This is a low blow against female empowerment,” she was quoted by a tabloid.
Hrithik, on the other hand feels that while what happened is unfortunate, it is not fair to lash out at anybody without getting to the root of the matter. The Bang Bang actor says, “I speak for myself. I don’t think it is right now the media indulges in misleading it’s readers by using inappropriate headlines and pictures. I believe the camera has been zoomed in. This is absolutely pathetic. I would like to weigh on both sides and consider the possibility that perhaps the publication is being blamed for the mistake of an employee. That said, TOI has to take responsibility and check who is writing what.”
Well, that’s what Hrithik and Kalki have to say. We wonder if other celebrities will come out and speak their mind out on this issue.
