B-town has been hit by a wave of remakes. Ram-Lakhan is the current hot topic where speculations on who would play the iconic duo have been doing the rounds. Where Rekha’s 1980 film Khoobsurat has already had a remake starring Sonam Kapoor and Fawad Khan, we look at the rest of her films which should be remade with a list of actors who could star in the same. Silsila – Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone
Silsila was said to have been inspired by a real life triangle love story between Rekha, Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan. Come to think of it, what better example to take from in today’s day and age with Ranbir, Katrina and Deepika playing the parts? Given their background, the performances will hold a deeper meaning for the plot, if you catch our drift.
Umrao Jaan – Shraddha Kapoor, Fawad Khan, Sidharth Malhotra
Now we know that Umrao was remade where Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and her hubby Abhishek Bachchan were seen in lead roles, but we would like a repeat show with a bunch of newbies this time around. Given Shraddha’s beauty and nazakat, we believe the Ek Villain fame would do justice to the role, followed by Fawad , playing the Nawab (Farooq Shaikh’s role) she falls in love with and Sidharth (Raj Babbar’s role), who she chooses to marry later. Do you agree?
Khoon Bhari Maang – Sonakshi Sinha, Arjun Kapoor, Parineeti Chopra
Being a tale of revenge, we believe Rekha’s role could be played by Sonakshi Sinha, who would be suitable to play a toughie for the film. We can picture Sona riding a horse with a hunter in one hand! Her enemy could be played by Arjun Kapoor (Kabir Bedi’s role) followed by Parineeti Chopra, who could play the other woman in the plot (Sonu Walia)
Biwi Ho Toh Aisi – Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan
Given the light plot of the film, who better to play the role of a newly married other than Alia and Varun (Farooq Shaikh’s role)? The duo’s chemistry was the talk of the town since Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, and we believe the two would do justice to the roles in the remake of the film.
Mr Natwarlal-Ranveer Singh and Jacqueline Fernandez
Ranveer Singh is certainly a man who deserves to be in the lead and hence the Kill Dil fame is apt to step into Big B’s shoes for the same. His leading lady could be played by the Kick actress. Wethinks, this fresh jodi will add the much needed tadka.
