King Khan and the reigning queen of Bollywood are all set to charm the audience once again with their upcoming film Happy New Year. So far these two actors have done two film together and both turned out to be blockbusters. But will their third outing together be a success at the box office? Read on to know…
Farah Khan’s big budget film Happy New Year starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani, Sonu Sood and Vivaan Shah will finally hit the screens this Friday. The film has not only created great buzz but it’s also a solo release that too during Diwali which wethinks is an added advantage. Also, HNY is also coming together of Farah, Shah Rukh and Dippy after a long time. The trio last worked together in Om Shanti Om which marked Ms Padukone’s successful debut in Bollywood. Apart from that, Happy New Year is also Gauri Khan’s hubby and Deepika’s third film together, first two being OSO and Chennai Express. Considering both the films were a hit with the masses and even at the box office, chances are their latest film would also taste success. In fact, there is hardly anything that may work against HNY.
However, the film is releasing during the festive occasion of Diwali which is a long weekend. Yes, releasing a film during Eid, Diwali or Christmas has always worked wonders for the filmmakers. But at the same time, most people prefer going on a vacation during a long weekend. So this may affect box of collection of Happy New Year to a certain extent but then no big film is releasing before November 7 so SRK-Deepika starrer will have enough time to rake in big moolah.
Also, Happy New Year is a family entertainer which is perfect a release for a festival like Diwali as the auspicious occasion is all about spending time with loved ones and having a good time.
So all in all, Shah Rukh as a producer seems to have made all the right decisions. And wethinks his musical extravaganza will get cash registers jingling. As for breaking and creating new records, well, we’ll get all our answers on Friday so let’s wait and watch!
