Critics are placing their bets on him for taking home the prized trophies
Shahid Kapoor’s Haider has opened to glowing reviews at the box-office this weekend. His association with film maker Vishal Bharadwaj with who he worked on Kaminey seems to have worked in his favour. His performance in Haider is being hailed as one of his ‘career best’ and critics have given a special nod and a massive thumbs up to him in their reviews.
Buzz is that Shahid is super excited and thrilled given the fact that the film is getting positive word of mouth and being seen as a performance oriented film. Phata Poster Nikhla Hero neither worked at the box-office nor got him any recognition from the reviewers. However, his last release was the Sonakshi Sinha starrer R…Rajkumar, which did descent business at the box office.
However, all that has changed with Haider which is being seen as a new chapter in Shahid’s career. A source reveals, “Shahid has indeed given the performance of a lifetime. He is a sure bet at the best actor trophy next year.”
With 2014 in its last quarter and the only big releases being Happy New Year and PK, the race for best actor is only getting tighter. We at BollywoodLife think that Shahid totally deserves a pat on his back for his performance in Haider and is a sure shot candidate for the race in the majority of award shows next year.
