Children’s Day Special: A look at Aamir Khan, Hrithik Roshan and Alia Bhatt as child artists

Before becoming A-list actors and actresses, a lot of celebs worked started their career in Bollywood as child artists. Since its Children’s Day today, we decided to walk down that memory lane…

Aamir Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Imran Khan and Urmila Matondkar came in Bollywood much before they established themselves as big stars. They all took their first step in acting as child artists.

And their journey since then has truly been incredible. Mahesh Bhatt’s beti, who is currently considered as one of the finest actresses, was just six when she starred in her first film as child artist. While Shahid didn’t act in any films, he appeared in a commercial which got him noticed and then he was seen in music videos. So on the occasion of Children’s Day we thought it would be fun to look back and see these stars looked as child artists. Aamir Khan: As a child artist Mr Perfectionist acted in Yaadon Ki Baaraat which released way back in 1973. The PK actor played the younger version of Tariq Khan who is actually Aamir’s cousin in real life.

Hrithik Roshan: Before making a smashing entry in Bollywood with Kaho Na Pyaar Hai, Hrithik acted in the film Bhagwaan Dada which starred his father Rakesh Roshan and South superstar Rajinikanth. The film was also produced by Sr Roshan.

Alia Bhatt: Alia Bhatt made her acting debut in 2012 with Karan Johar’s Student Of The Year but she appeared on the silver screen much before that. Ms Bhatt as a child artist acted in 1999 psychological thriller Sangharsh. In the film, the Shandaar actress played young Preity Zinta.

Shahid Kapoor: The Haider actor as a child artist did a commercial along with Ayesha Takia. Yes, we are talking the Complan AD.

Imran Khan: The Delhi Belly actor played young Aamir Khan in Jo Jeeta Wahi Sikandar. We all remember the scene where his butt gets exposed, don’t we?

Urmila Matondkar: The B-town beauty as a child artist acted in three films – Karm (1977), Kalyug (1981) and Masoom (1983). Her performance in Shekar Kapur’s hit directorial venture Masoom earned her lot of praise.
