We give you behind the scenes dope on why these two fought and how they mended their ways

Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan might be friends now, but that wasn’t the case a few years ago. In fact the two had a much public fall out and had stopped talking and working together. The big fight happened on the sets of Chalte Chalte in 2002 a film that SRK was producing and had Aishwarya as its main lead. At that point in time Ash was dating Salman Khan and the two were going through a rough patch. As it happened one day Salman landed up on the sets of Chalte Chalte and had a huge argument with Ash that could have become physical and things might have turned nasty. It was only when SRK intervened and played the mediator that things cooled down. However, because of this drama, SRK asked Ash to leave the film as he didn’t want any problems on set. Ash was replaced with Rani and the film went on to become a big hit.

However, after that SRK and Ash stopped speaking to each other and even rejected a few films that came to them. Neither of them made an effort to break the ice and try to patch up. There were instances when they were in the same room during award functions or Bollywood parties but the two would just look through each other.

So how did the patch up happen ? A source told us that it was SRK’s wife Gauri who managed to get these two to let their bygones be bygones and start afresh. Gauri personally spoke to Ash and asked her to come visit their home Mannat. She also asked SRK to be present and asked the two to sit down and talk. It seems that the two hugged it out and ever since then have never looked back.

Today Shah Rukh is very close to the Bachchan clan and is a part of every celebration of the family. Both Aishwarya and SRK have let their past stay in the past and moved on.
