I asked some celebrated designers to tell me what they think Kim Kardashian should wear while her stint on the Salman Khan’s show. Read on to know what they had to say…
So, first things first, I am really excited about Kim Kardashian’s India visit (yes, despite her “Indian food is disgusting” comment) and no I don’t care so much for Bigg Boss 8‘s TRPs. I am looking forward to Kim K entering the glass-walled house because I know her style statement (beside other assets) will make heads turn. Just picture an insanely glamourous Kim standing besides an extremely haughty Karishma Tanna and you may just scream with glee!
Anyway, so the minute I heard about Kim’s maiden visit to the country I got in touch with a few designers to ask them what they think the reality television star would look best in on the show. The unanimous reply: “anything which covers that butt good! hahaha” Well, I would have said anything that accentuates that derrière good. Our guest fashion blogger and designer Aniket Satam seemed to share my opinion.
He said, “After the whole butt hoopla, definitely something that accentuates and compliment her infamous derrière! Going with her minimal sensibilities and monochrome love, a modern Shivan and Narresh slash saree with statement Amrapali jewels would be fab. Signature Nikhil Thampi metallic obi belt worn with clean silhouettes with some Outhouse jewels would be a winner too. For desi funk, anything by Masaba with Valliyan is a success formula for mass hysteria. PS Neo-Indian styles with global taste is the premium mantra for Kim to go Kamasutra cool!”
But then my thoughts went to the fourth season Bigg Boss when Pamela Anderson was launched into the house to steam up the TRPs. I didn’t quite like the work stylists had done with Pam; they gave her bland outfits which did no justice to her hot-bod. Pam couldn’t own the white translucent saree and looked pretty awkward wearing it. So, could Kim K suffer the same?
I asked Swapnil Shinde (Katrina Kaif wore his outfits in the Bang Bang title track) if Kim K can pull off sexiness in the six yards and he said, “Nah, I don’t think she can carry off a saree. Maybe a tunic at best.” I asked Shinde what he though Kim should wear on BB8, “Pants, jumpsuits, ankle-length dresses would work fine,” he said.
I am on the fence about Kim wearing a saree. Perhaps, her hourglass figure will look deliriously gorgeous draped in a saree but there is an equal danger of her not being comfortable in the same.
I’ll just have to wait for November 22. Till then you tell me if Kim Kardashian would look hot in a saree or not!
